At midday, Tuesday November 30, 2021, the Channel-North Sea Maritime Prefecture issued a warning message about upcoming weather conditions. Caen (Calvados) and its seafront are affected by strong gales, expected at the end of the afternoon, and which according to requests, must intensify during the night.
The prefecture announces “the arrival of a depression causing fairly strong to strong south-westerly then westerly winds with significant gusts over the entire facade”. Winds at 50 km / h are expected from the end of the afternoon. Météo Ciel announces for its part winds at 70 km / h in Caen, in the evening and at night, and up to 75 km / h in Ouistreham.
Hollows of 4 to 6 meters at sea
“The sea conditions will be degraded with rough to very rough seas offshore, with troughs of up to 4 to 5 meters (sea level of 6 on the Douglas scale, height of 4 to 6 meters)” , warns the maritime prefecture. All accompanied by obverse.
The beginning of December in Normandy is therefore marked by windy episodes. The wind will still blow on Thursday, December 2, while being less sustained. Météo France forecasts peaks of 45-50 km / h in Caen. Above all, it will come from the north causing temperatures to drop.
As for temperatures, they will remain higher than during the previous weekend. Day and night, the thermometer should remain stable around 10 degrees.
