Genoa, the new fountain in via Tolemaide is ready, but the water connection is still missing
It is the largest in the city after the one in De Ferrari. Seventy meters that focus on the water features, but some areas are already frozen
Genoa – Few details are still missing, then the new fountain built between via Tolemaide and Brignole will finally come into operation. A work that focuses on the play of water from the cracks, and on a geometric design created on the slate surface. The work is 70 meters long, making it the second largest fountain in Genoa after the one in Piazza De Ferrari. Built using the construction site for the safety of the Bisagno stream, the new structure in via Tolemaide has already ended up at the center of criticism for its position and for the decision to let the water flow in a point that historically has always had problems.
The water was indeed the main danger for the shops under the arches on the side of the railway line (the activities were then moved due to the flood risk). Today the workers were still at work and waiting for the water connection, which will transform the square in front of it into a new urban connection space between Brignole and via Tolemaide, the low temperatures of recent days have already anticipated one of the problems that could threaten the newborn. construction: the popsicle.
Antifreeze for the new water features will be mandatory, especially considering that the water drainage spaces this morning were already partly frozen with the cold of the season. The project for the new fountain was also designed to become a long session on the square, which was in turn restructured in the last batch of works for the functional adaptation of the coverage of the Bisagno stream.
