Since Monday, November 29, 2021, the Grace of God swimming pool, at Caen (Calvados) is closed. In the middle of the night, “a water valve gave way at the level of the local technique”, explains Caen la mer, in charge of the management of the public swimming pools of the territory of the urban community.
The malfunctions are the result of valve rupture caused by flooding in the boiler room, as well as in the basin area. “Several devices are out of order, including switchboards and electrical installations, boiler rooms and motors. “
The swimming pool could not reopen and is now “closed for an indefinite period”.
Work to be done
Used only for swimming lessons for children and adults, and by clubs, the Grace of God swimming pool has not been open to everyone since September 20. But the closure still poses problems. “The Sports Department [de Caen la mer] seeks solutions for schools, individual and group lessons as well as for club activities. “
In order for the pool to be usable again, work must be carried out. They relate in particular to the restoration of local technology. Caen la mer ensures that “the reopening will be announced as soon as the expertise has specified the nature of the work to be carried out”.
