We are celebrating GivingTuesday’s Good Deeds Day in Slovakia
“More and more people are joining #GivingTuesday in Slovakia. Every year, the number of donated funds and the number of those who want to contact non-profit organizations and want to help them, either as volunteers over time or by donating material things, is increasing, “says Michal Kišša, CEO of the Pontis Foundation, adding:” time, money, things, but also know-how and experience can simply need a good deed and as inspiration for his next time on social networks. “
Allow yourself, we will give the organization a helping hand, which will be helped by the so-called accelerator good placed on the page Givingtuesday.sk. He will randomly select one of the registered organizations requesting assistance. I also offer the opportunity to obtain non-profits according to the focus of the region.
Help for a unique plant dryer or Slovak education
Almost 100 civic organizations from all over the country joined the initiative this year. The INEX Slovakia organization, for example, which prepares Santa’s packages for clients in Prešov and Bratislava, needs a helping hand. The Vegetabil Association, in turn, is seeking financial and material support to save a rare building – a drying plant for medicinal plants in Hanušovce nad Topľou. Likewise, the Generation 3.0 project, which brings innovative education to schools, will please the public. Many organizations will appreciate the gift in the form of volunteering or know-how, ie if the expert also helps them in some area, such as project communication or legal advice.
Large companies, small business owners and the presidential office will be added
In addition, dozens of companies and institutions from all over Slovakia participate in #GivingTuesday and support this idea of generosity and kindness. For example, the local clothing brand Rivica donates 10% of sales from orders realized these days. The Adient Slovakia plant in Trenčín again came up with the Adopt a Check initiative and calls on employees to help pay for checks for socially disadvantaged families.
The President’s Office will also be involved in the Day of Good Deeds, which will organize a collection of durable food for the Food Bank of Slovakia. It helps single seniors or single parents in difficult times.
People can also use food and hygiene products as part of the collection organized by donations in their Tesco stores.
“Some and the institutions were originally in full operation, but they cannot be provided at the time of the company’s lockdown. But a lot of companies work together, creativity and solutions to help virtual or help, “ says M. Kišša. The National Bank of Slovakia, for example, organizes online charity markets – on its website it offers an offer of products of protected works that they can buy. Generali, in turn, is planning a virtual Christmas tree, thanks to which the insurance company’s employees will be able to fulfill the wishes of children from crisis centers.
Wool good in towns and villages
“Every year, the number of municipalities that organize activities to support the Day of Good Deeds is also growing. Currently, 10 municipalities are involved in #GivingTuesday. These are cities such as Prešov, Trnava, Hlohovec, Spišská Nová Ves, Michalovce or some parts of Bratislava, “ appoints M. Kišš. The most popular collection of activities among those involved is clothing or drugstores for people in need.
Every hand can turn for help
Many celebrities give a helping hand in spreading the ideas of #GivingTuesday. The campaign was supported by actors Táňa Pauhofová and Juraj Šoko Tabaček or influencers Surová dcérka, Čoje, Barbara Jagušák or Michal Sabo. The heroes of this year’s campaign are just ordinary hands, which they can turn into help at any time.
