Given the risk of collapse of the silo, Veolia, operator of this site, called on the Haute-Garonne firefighters and set up a safety perimeter of 60 meters around the silo, inside the silo. the premises of the company. “A water curtain has been installed, provided, if necessary, to contain the ashes in the event of subsidence”, details the prefecture.
No injuries
This incident did not cause any injuries and remains confined within the site of the company. The prefectural services specify that “this site is an installation classified for the protection of the environment (ICPE) and that it is the property of the mixed union Decoset”.
A monitoring system is currently in place on the site in order to prevent any risk. Security operations by private companies are also planned, this Tuesday morning, in the presence of the means of the firefighters of the department.
