The Malta Stock Exchange organizes an Annual Awards Dinner after an absence of one year
The Malta Stock Exchange once again held its Annual Awards Luncheon on Friday, 26 November 2021 at the Phenicia Hotel.
The Hon. The Minister for Finance and Employment, Mr Clyde Caruana was the guest of Honor while other distinguished guests included regulators, financial professionals and executives representing many companies listed on the Malta Stock Exchange. More than 160 people attended and the keynote speaker of the MFSA was Mr. Joseph M Gavin.
In his opening speech the Executive Chairman of the MSE, Mr Joseph Portelli expressed his pleasure to be able, once again, to organize the Annual MSE Awards Luncheon after an absence of one year. . He said that he was very happy that despite the challenges of the pandemic, thanks to the exceptional staff of the Malta Stock Exchange, the Malta Stock Exchange still managed to do well and continue to offer an uninterrupted service to all stakeholders.
A total of five awards were presented on the night, covering both 2020 and 2021. The Lifetime Achievement Award 2020 was given to the Chairman of the Farsons Group Mr. Louis A Farrugia. The Company of the Year 2020 Award was presented to Mr Alan Borg, Chief Executive of MIA on behalf of Malta International Airport plc.
The Employee of the Year 2020 Award was given jointly to the Chief Executive of the MSE, Mr Simon Zammit and to the Chief Executive Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Services of the MSE Mr Alfred Sammut.
The Lifetime Achievement 2021 award was given to the Founder and Chairman of the AX Group, Mr. Angelo Xuereb.
Ms Therese Amato Head of the Office of Human Resources and Corporate Services was awarded the 2021 Employee of the Year Award
