Switzerland and Kazakhstan sign two trade agreements
The joint discussions were devoted to economic relations between the two countries in international organizations and global issues.
The two agreements are a protocol on domestic regulation in the service sector and an agreement on the mutual recognition of official stamps on precious metal goods, as the Federal Department of Economics, Education and Research (EAER) announced on Monday evening.
One of the noble agreements signed by the Swiss watch and jewelry industry gives access to the Kazakh metal goods market, the other, thanks to clear and transparent approval procedures, gives Swiss service companies in Kazakhstan access.
Both sides emphasized on Monday that relations between Switzerland and Kazakhstan could be improved despite the corona pandemic. According to the WBF, there is close cooperation in regional water diplomacy and in the Bretton Woods institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Parmelin praised Kazakhstan’s participation as an observer in the last review conference on the cluster munitions convention chaired by Switzerland. Other topics were the situation in Afghanistan and the next ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which should have taken place in Geneva from Tuesday, but postponed indefinitely due to the corona pandemic.
