Luxembourg City’s test center is moving
The files do not decrease, every morning, in front of the certified antigen testing center at 70, Grand-rue. As a reminder, the City of Luxembourg offers them at the advantageous rate of five euros. They allow people who have not been vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 to present a valid CovidCheck, to go to work or to a restaurant for example. Before being able to benefit from it, you must collect your voucher either at the town hall (42, place Guillaume II), or at the Rocade administrative building, located at 3, rue du Laboratoire. Then use it in one of the 13 participating pharmacies, or at the City’s antigen test certification center. From tomorrow, Tuesday November 30, the latter will leave the Grand-Rue to settle at 17, place du Théâtre, next to the Cinémathèque. Or about 300 meters from the old building. Seven new addresses have also been added to the list of places where its five-euro test: six Picken Doheem centers and the Gutt versuergt care service.
Each person is entitled to two vouchers per day, even if the City does not ask “for any personal data from people who come to the Town Hall or to the reception of the Ring Road”. It “informs the maximum number of vouchers distributed per person and relies on reasonable behavior on the part of the public”.
Soon visits every day to keep a valid CovidCheck
The opening hours of the city’s test center remain the same: Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Except December 25 and 26, 2021 as well as January 1, 2022, she announces. The vaccination center, currently located on the first floor of 70, Grand-Rue, will be located on the ground floor of the building, in place of the test center. Asked about the reasons for this move, the City has not yet responded to Paperjam.
The information of the move has in any case been sent to the many visitors still present this Monday morning Grand-Rue. The test center took the opportunity to remind them that these certified rapid antigenic tests will soon no longer be valid for 48 hours, but only 24 hours. The measure, announced by the government last week, is due to come into effect as soon as the bill is enacted, which is expected later this week. For their part, PCR tests will be valid from 72 to 48 hours.
