If Černochová becomes a ministry, Udženija will probably be the mayor of Prague 2 Prague 2 | From the region Pražská Drbna
In the event that the current mayor of Prague 2, Jana Černochová (ODS), becomes the Ministry of Defense, the current deputy mayor and Prague deputy, Alexandra Udženija (ODS), will run for the post at the head of the city district. “It’s just an agreement so far, I have to confirm the council,” Udzhenia said. Hospodářské noviny drew attention to her transfer to the position of mayor.
Udženija is currently Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs and, since January this year, also Chair of the Municipal Audit Committee. It is said that she has not yet negotiated with colleagues if she would elect her as mayor if the representatives of the other part of the city elected her mayor.
In February this year, she replaced her party colleague Jaroslava Janderová, who died in January after severe pneumonia caused by coronavirus. Until then, Udženija was the chairwoman of the ODS representative club. In the past, she was also the vice-president of the national ODS.
Černochová was the mayor of Prague 2 from 2006 to 2010. She returned to the position in 2012 and is still the head of the city district. She has also been a Member of Parliament since 2010. She did not comment today on whether she would resign as mayor or deputy if she took office.
