Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the House of Representatives Alexander Markevich told reporters about this, commenting on the situation at the national border, BelTA has learned.
“Our country, the country is taking active steps. There were proposals from the head of state when he visited the TLC.
According to him, any issue must be resolved at the negotiating table. This is the way the Belarusian side is proposing. “Secondly, this is the active connection of the capabilities of international organizations, including the capabilities of the CSTO. We see what an active role the Federation and other CSTO members play in this,” the parliamentarian notes.
Alexander Markevich admits that the threat in the world is not diminishing. Moreover, migration flows are projected to increase. “The main task of parliamentarians is legislative activity, minimization of these threats and an agreed position on all international platforms,” he added.
Today the deputy took part in the joint voting of the council and the 14th plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the video-conference mode. Among other things, the issue of the situation in organizations and measures to counter challenges and threats to collective security was considered.
