an evening on custody procedures for foreign minors
After the unanimous approval by the Great and General Council of law no. 79 and the adoption, by the State Congress, of resolution no. 4 of 25 October 2021, with which the associations “Still I Rise – ONLUS” and “Comunità di Sant’Egidio ACAP – ONLUS” were authorized to operate in San Marino for the procedures for the custody of unaccompanied foreign minors, the group of associations that proposed the adoption of the law organizes a public meeting entitled “A family for refugee children – In San Marino a dream becomes reality with the Sala Polivalente – Auditorium” Little Tony “in Serravalle the Law n. 79/2021 “. The meeting aims, with a view to collaboration between politics, institutions and civil society, to give answers to the questions and doubts of those who are interested, spouses or singles, start the procedures useful for obtaining foster care one or more unaccompanied minors, now forced to live in inhumane conditions even in European refugee camps. Despite the meeting, a dear friend of the Republic of San Marino, Nicolò Govoni, co founder and President of Still I Rise, who will give us testimony of the current living conditions in the refugee camp on the island of Samos (Greece), from which they can be the minors that the San Marino families or singles available for foster care will welcome, performing a great act of love. In addition to Nicolò, Paolo Rondelli, President of the Foreign Affairs Commission and rapporteur of the bill in the Great and General Council, will be attended by Dr. Maria Rosaria Russo, representative of the Pope John XXIII Association, who will talk about the experience of foster care, and a representative of the San Marino associations that gave impetus to the law. The evening will be hosted by a column of San Marino journalism: Sergio Barducci. On the occasion, Nicolò Govoni will also present his new book, Fortuna. No reservation is required to participate in the meeting, admission is free and please note that the use of a mask is mandatory for the entire duration of the event. No more than 180 people will be admitted to the auditorium, the maximum capacity of the Little Tony Auditorium in this pandemic period.
