Amsterdam in 24th position in Health Index
Amsterdam is in 24th place in the Health Index, a ranking of the best healthtech cities worldwide. Boston leads the list and is seen as the capital when it comes to collecting biometrics, hearing care, cardiovascular disease and gynecology. New York and San Francisco are in second and third position.
This is evident from figures from software developer Moove-It.com. The company supports customers in implementing technology in the healthcare sector, among others. The research maps the most diverse healthtech ecosystems worldwide. rather, cities are coherent on factors such as investments, existing infrastructure and available talent.
85 cities surveyed
The company analyzed the healthtech possibilities of 85 simple cities. This list of cities is based on a first selection. thousands of cities worldwide with a prominent role in healthcare have been identified and presented. Based on this, 50 US cities and 35 cities outside the United States (US) were selected.
These cities are surfaces surfaces. Think of funding for R&D, with the lag on private institutions, healthcare institutions, government-related research institutions and universities. The number of active start-ups in the field of healthtech and other relevant organizations has also been mapped out. However, also consider the number of employees who are on these projects, extending their salary.
United States strongly represented
It is striking that no fewer than nine cities are in the top 10 healthtech cities in the United States. Boston leads with a score of 100 points, followed by New York (85.89 points) and San Francisco (79.91).
The British capital London is the only non-American city in the top 10. London is in eighth position with 64.87 points. The Dutch capital Amsterdam is also included in the ranking. Amsterdam is in 24th place out of a total of 85 cities assessed.
Financing R&D
When it comes to financing R&D, Amsterdam scores low in the ranking. The Dutch capital is in 73rd position. Taiwanese Taipei is number 1, followed by Chinese Beijing and American Boston.
Are we looking at the number of healthtech startups? Then the ranking will look very different. Boston is in the lead, followed by San Francisco and Singapore. London is in fifth position and is ahead of New York (#4). Amsterdam problems regarding healthtech startups in 39th position.
Staff members
If we look at the number of employees of healthtech companies, Boston scores the highest. Philadelphia and Los Angeles follow in second and third position. Amsterdam is in 47th place.
In terms of financing and employment, San Francisco is the highest, followed by Boston and Basel, Switzerland. Amsterdam in this list in 60th position.
Salary
In terms of salary, Moove-It.com looks at both the highest and lowest trades. Employees earn the most in Switzerland; Zurich is in first position and Basel in second position. The American San Jose rounds out the top three. Amsterdam is in 21st position.
Employees of health tech companies earn the least in Italy’s Rome, French Lyon and British Manchester.
Telecare, mental health & psychology
Finally, the research looks at the capital cities when it comes to telecare and mental health & psychology. When it comes to telehealth, the top 5 are made up entirely of US cities. New York leads the way, followed by Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston and Kansas City. Amsterdam is in 46th position.
In terms of mental health & psychology, New York also leads the ranking. San Francisco, Boston, Denver and Los Angeles follow. We find Amsterdam in 29th place in the ranking.
