From December 8 to 12, the Salon Créateurs & Artisans d’Art welcomes for this anniversary date the novelties of its exhibitors at MEETT. A varied source of inspiration for visitors during the holidays, who over five days discover Made in France know-how, the trends worn by young designers and an exhibition by visual artist Philippe Gauberti.
Cabinetmakers, upholsterers, gilders, cutlers, sculptors, ceramists, potters, painters, glassmakers, jewelers, leatherworkers, eyewear, fashion designers for adults and children are exhibited on 4000 m2, at the option of a hundred stands.
The main crafts of French heritage and their “handmade” pieces have been selected by a Committee of expert craftsmen on precise criteria: artisanal production above all, but also originality and creativity. From the unique piece crafted with respect for tradition to the object with new and innovative shapes, the living room disseminates a mine of ideas to make or have fun, to set your Christmas table, to decorate your house or to personalize a gift.
Supporting the next generation: creators at work
19 new talents are entering. They are cutlers, ceramists, jewelers, sculptors and woodturners and the show allows them to exhibit for the first time.
Visitors are invited to meet and elect their favorite, by participating in a raffle to win 2 places at the Diabolic Song in Paradise dinner-show at the Casino Barrière in Toulouse. The winning craftsman will exhibit free of charge at the next edition of the show.
It’s new ! Réanim’Art: at the time of eco-responsible recycling
Short circuits and reuse animate a number of artists, who recycle and give a second life to materials to create unique pieces and exceptional objects: children’s clothing in zero waste fabric, jewelry made from scraps of leather or recycled plastic, lamps knife blade plate emissions, recycled bronze sculptures, renovated furniture.
Honorary artist in 2021: Philippe Gauberti
For more than 20 years, this renowned sculptor in France and internationally has been working with metal with a predilection for polished stainless steel to the point of becoming a mirror. The exhibition “Reflect and make people think” is a “game of reflections” questioning the viewer on his capacity to open up to the world, to others and to his own freedom. www.philippegauberti.com
The painter Bernard Cadène, honorary artist of the show in 2019 and the sculptor Éva Czaplicki exhibit alongside him throughout the show.
