Traffic disrupted this Monday in Normandy due to a social movement
The week started badly for Norman SNCF users. Disturbances are to be expected at stations in the region. A social movement was launched for the day at the call of the CFDT, CGT, SudRail, UNSA and force Ouvrière. The strike notice denounces the abolition of supervisory posts in the region.
A harmful project for the service of Norman users
According to the SNCF, it is the intraregional lines that will be disrupted. However, a “minimum service” should be guaranteed on these lines according to the railway company.
The striking railway workers are protesting against the abolition of control posts, particularly on the Rouen-Dieppe and Rouen-Le Havre lines. “There is nonsense in this decision” protested Jonathan Jarrige, the regional secretary of the CFDT railroad worker in Normandy. According to this union representative, “this goes completely against safety, security, safeguarding revenue. We see that this project is completely harmful for the service of Norman users.”
In addition, the Krono + lines, which are non-stop between Paris-Rouen-Le Havre and Paris-Caen-Cherbourg, will not be impacted by the social movement.
