tie in Oliveira do Hospital
Team B scored a point away from home (1-1)
Sporting Clube de Portugal’s B football team visited FC Oliveira do Hospital this Sunday, drawing 1-1 in the ninth round of series B of Liga 3. Youssef Chermiti scored the Leonino goal in a match in which Filipe Celikkaya’s Lions deserved more than one point.
With the teams somewhat fitted in the opening minutes, a first dangerous situation followed an error by the visitors in their defensive zone, but Bernardo Sousa’s shot went too far off target. Then, to make a good team play, Geny Catamo headed into the hands of Nando Pedrosa, warning the Leonino ascendant that he would follow. In the 16th minute, the Mozambican international was launched in depth to leave yet another threat. Only the Lions showed up in the attack and would be promptly rewarded in the following minute: Dário Essugo found Geny on the inside and he served Youssef Chermiti, who didn’t forgive him face to face – scoring debut in League 3 and by team B for the striker only 17 years old.
FC Oliveira do Hospital tried to respond immediately, but was unable to hit Diego Calai’s goal. However, with some happiness in the mix, the home team came to a draw close to half an hour. Following a corner kick, Bonilla took advantage of a confused and bumpy move to equalize the match. The balance of messages would return to the dominant note and 1-1 went into the second half.
The game continued to be more tied in the restart and as the approaches to both goals became scarcer. Already close to 70 minutes, Essugo shot from a distance and was very close to the goal. Filipe Celikkaya is waiting to stir up the meeting, from the bench, with the entry of Vando Félix to replace Mateus Fernandes. Then, it was Geny Catamo’s turn to shoot from outside the area, but goalkeeper Pedrosa responded in kind, shaking up Leonina’s attempt.
With the final whistle approaching, the match intensified and FC Oliveira do Hospital also tried their luck, mainly through quick counterattacks, but the offensive hit of both emblems was null. With Tiago Rodrigues and Lucas Dias on the field – Celikkaya’s last move -, the Lions asked for a penalty kick on Hevertton Santos at the start of the last five minutes, but nothing would be signaled.
Despite Sporting CP’s final effort, moving into the opposing midfield, the Lions missed the goal. In added time, Lucas Dias had a victory on his feet, but the rest would suffer a decisive deflection when a ball headed for goal.
With this outcome, team B has eight points in Liga 3 and in the next round moves to Oriental Dragon FC’s ground.
