The magic of Christmas took hold of Place Carnot on Saturday 27 November with the opening of the Lyon Christmas market. The village, made up of 80 chalets, offers visitors many sweets and toys in the midst of Christmas lights and decorations.
Long uncertain, the outcome of the holding of the Lyon Christmas market, place Carnot, finally found its outcome at the end of October when the Lyon town hall formalized its installation in front of Perrache station. A month later, the magic of Christmas reached and the 80 chalets promised by the city lit their garlands and opened their stands to Lyonnais on Saturday 27 November.
Candied chestnuts, honey, gingerbread, foie gras, truffles, sweets, there is something for everyone among the many products offered from the region, but also from the rest of the country. The Christmas market in Place Carnot is also an opportunity to do some shopping for the end of year celebrations while browsing the toy and Christmas decoration stands, while this year “two chalets will accommodate traditional artisans“, specifies the city of Lyon.
Health pass required
At the time of the confirmation of the organization of the Christmas market, Camille Augey, the deputy mayor of Lyon, in charge of the sustainable economy, integration, trade and crafts, was delighted “to return to the Place Carnot Christmas market this year. It is an event dear to Lyonnais and Lyonnais in this period so planned for the end of the year celebrations, which has met in value craftsmanship from our region “.
Accessible on presentation of a valid health pass and with a mask on the tip of the nose, the Christmas market is open Monday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on December 24 when it will close at 4 p.m. Note that during the Festival of Lights the market will only be open until 7 p.m.
