PSD Vila Verde congratulates Rui Rio, “candidate for Prime Minister of Portugal”
Political Commission of the PSD Municipality of Vila Verde this Sunday congratulated Rui Rio for the victory in the direct changes of the PSD, changing him as a candidate for prime minister of Portugal.
In a statement, a main structure intervening were this time alongside Paulo Rangel (supported by Rio against Montenegro), highlighted the 834 votes of militants in that council (506 in Paulo Rangel and 310 in Rui Rio), stating that “democracy materializes and evolution with compensation and positive confrontation of alternatives”.
The council congratulated Rui Rio, who won as reinvigorated, has a renewed and strengthened mandate as president of the PSD and will be a candidate for prime minister of Portugal”, says the note sent to the press, signed by the president of the structure, José Manuel Lopes.
Despite having appealed to vote for the defeated candidate, the council calls for “the mobilization of all PSD militants and sympathizers to unite around Rui Rio (…) to ensure the construction of a modern country, competition and better for all Portuguese”.
The commission trusts “in a strong and expressive victory of the PSD in the municipality of Vila Verde in the legislative changes of the next 30th of January, thus contributing to a great victory for the PSD and the launching of a new cycle of development and progress for all Portuguese” .
