Hungary also restricts entry due to the new virus mutant – Kitekintő.hu
A decree restricting the entry of people from the South African region was published in the Hungarian Gazette in the afternoon, according to which Hungarians who return home from the region or visited the region in the two weeks prior to their arrival were also quarantined.
The regulation, which runs from Monday, covers seven countries: the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of South Africa, the Kingdom of Swaziland, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia and the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Pursuant to the government decree, Hungarians arriving from the area may undergo a medical examination upon entering the territory of Hungary and, if a coronavirus is suspected, appear or, if it is not a risk, place it in official house quarantine. However, Hungarians from the region even a 14-day home quarantine authority if a medical examination does not establish a suspicion of infection.
From these countries as a rule a non-Hungarian citizen may not enter the passenger traffic, only in certain cases if authorized by the police, for example because he is a participant in a judicial proceeding. If a foreigner intending to enter has such a certificate, he or she will have to enter under the new regulations, but he or she will still be subjected to 14 days of official in-house quarantine and will not be exempted from negative PCR tests this week.
