Football, San Marino National Team: Fabrizio Costantini is the new Technical Commissioner
Fabrizio Costantinoi the new technical commissioner of the national team of San Marino is now formalized. The 53-year-old San Marino coach lands on the Titans bench, after four years at the helm of the U21 national team. Two full two-year years, inaugurated in Belarus in 2017, for 26 benches, up to the last one – a few days ago – in Ingolstadt with Germany. The new coach starts from here, who assures: “I can’t say that I expected it, I certainly hoped a lot. In these four years with the Under 21 team we have touched the result several times, but for the most diverse reasons we have not found it. However, I believe that the many players who have made the leap to the national team, some quite a few, testify to the goodness of the work produced. When a young player joins the national team it is only good, not surprisingly this is perhaps the primary goal in terms of Under 21. Many boys are involved in a championship of proven level and if the passage, more or less long, from the ranks of the U21 I consider it of fundamental importance – continues Costantini -, it is the responsibility of the national team technician to monitor every main call-up. Everyone will be taken into consideration, more or less experts. The national team of San Marino, like and more than others, cannot afford to exclude any player a priori ”.
In the past of Costantini, in addition to the three two-year-olds at the helm of the Under 21 team – the last of which was interrupted after six of the ten qualifying days for Euro 2023 -, also years as a football player in the San Marino championship with Juvenes-Dogana, Tre Penne, Cosmos , San Giovanni and Dogana. In addition, many seasons in the Italian leagues – up to the Promotion in the Marche. As a technician, experiences in the territory with Fiorentino, Murata and Juvenes-Dogana: at the helm of the Serravalle club he reached the final of the 2014-15 San Marino Championship, which ended up being the prerogative of Folgore.
Costantini is called to train the technical staff with whom he will face a demanding and full of challenges 2022. In the following weeks, the team of collaborators of the Technical Commissioner will be communicated, who will set up the work oriented primarily by addressing the two international friendlies in March, which are being defined, as well as the four UEFA Nations League matches in June – to be played in the space of fifteen days. Then again in September with the last two matches of UEFA’s most recent national team competition, before closing with a couple more official friendlies. That could be two more, where the Titans will be drawn into the group consisting of only three teams in League D as happened in 2020. To find out, wait for the official draws on December 16, which will be held in Montreaux (Switzerland) tomorrow. and for which the coach Costantini confides his first hope: “If I had to choose, I would undoubtedly sign to re-enter the group of four teams. More real matches, as well as of this magnitude – undoubtedly more to get at our level than in World Cup and European qualifications – can only do us good “. Best wishes to the new coach from the editorial staff of Altarimini.it.
