An unprecedented incident occurred on Saturday night at Eastern Thessaloniki. According to thestival, a 15-year-old turned the pistol he was holding against a conventional EL.AS vehicle, in which two Security policemen were riding. Thanks to the professionalism of the police, the incident had a happy ending.
What happened and how the tragedy was avoided
Shortly after 10 o’clock on Saturday night in the center of Immediate Action he received calls from citizens who complained that the group of minors tried to rob them on Anaximandrou Street, in eastern Thessaloniki. The Security patrol that was in the area was ordered to move to the spot. As the police car (s.s. conventional car without insignia) was moving on Anaximandrou Street, a 15-year-old entered in front of him. He was holding a pistol. He pretended to be armed and turned it over to the police with his finger on the trigger. The police kept their composure. They got out of the car and made their status known. The 15-year-old and the other four members of the group of minors put him on his feet. The police chased and arrested one of them, but not the one holding the pistol.
They did it to upload videos on social media
The 15-year-old detainee was taken to the Charilaou-Analipsi Security Department, where he revealed the names of the other members of the group. Their parents were informed and the other four minors were brought to the Security Department. Among them is the one who marked the police with a pistol. As it turned out the pistol was fake.
According to information from thestival, the five arrested, all Greeks aged 15, told police that they tried to rob passers-by to videotape their actions and post the videos on social media. A criminal case was filed against them and they were taken to the prosecutor.
