A total of around 600 people were made aware of the mask requirement on the various in the city center. According to a police spokeswoman, proceedings were initiated in 65 cases. Five stand operators are also being investigated. A visitor expects a trial because he did not have a 2G certificate in the market in the old town and was not wearing a mask. Many Christmas markets have failed

All Christmas markets in Lower Saxony have already been canceled. And the Lower Saxony Association of Towns and Municipalities continues to be critical of the crowds, despite the strict requirements. Association president Marco Trips told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung that much smaller events were no longer taking place at the moment. Presumably, the markets would have to be canceled in general.
