3,500 participants in the corona demo in the city of Salzburg
Before that, a rally organized by MFG with 1,200 participants.
Salzburg. Critics of the Corona measures met again this Sunday for a “walk” through Salzburg city center. However, with 3,500 participants, according to the police, it was significantly more than before. The explanation for this could be a rally held immediately before by the vaccination skeptics party MFG on Kapitelplatz with around 1,200 participants.
A police spokeswoman for the APA on Sunday afternoon contradicted a figure published on the Internet that more than 10,000 people had moved through the center of Salzburg and named 3,500 participants. The protest march was generally quiet. There were a few reports of not wearing the FFP2 mask and property damage. A pane of glass broke, but details and the amount of damage were still unknown on Sunday evening.
The rally route led from Mozartplatz over the quay and back over the Staatsbrücke, Hanusch-Platz, Bürgerspitalplatz and back to the starting point with a final rally. Already on Saturday, people demonstrated against the Corona measures in Salzburg city center – but only a very small number compared to Sunday, around 120 in the area of the train station and around 70 in the city center.
