In a few weeks, the restaurant Storm will open rue des Polinaires, in the Carmelite district, In Toulouse. But from this Thursday, November 25, 2021, customers will be able to discover an ephemeral bar installed on the construction site of the future restaurant.
By the Monkey Hour team
Behind this original concept, we find the team of L’Heure du singe, the cocktail bar on rue Riquet. Who wanted to embark on a new adventure.
“At Monkey Hour, we are used to organizing multisensory evenings, with food, cocktails and DJs,” explains Nicolas, who manages the place with his company Morgane and their partner Corentin. We love it, and we want to do it all the time! But over there on has no place for a kitchen. “
A stop in the construction site
The team of Monkey Hour therefore began to look for a new place to develop this project which is close to his heart. Find his happiness last September and attack the work to transform the place.
“At one point, during the construction site, we said to ourselves that there was something to choose from in these places under construction,” explains Nicolas. An atmosphere that speaks to me all the more that I was in the building for ten years ! Finally, it is an environment that is close to us, they are craftsmen, like us. “
Tarpaulins on the walls, canteen mess tins and overalls
Once the upgrading was completed and before starting the decoration work, the team decided to open a bar in a place… still under construction! What is conceivable being clearly stated, the places were therefore baptized Site.
In terms of decoration, the team surfed on the theme: tarpaulins on the wall, recycling tables, workbenches, Chinese chairs at Emmaüs, hanging plasterboards… And the waiters are in overalls.
Cocktails, bento and pastries
At Chantier, you can taste cocktails of course, but also craft beers and a selection of natural wines. Drinks to enjoy with bentos from Tchaco Déli, one of the boxes in the Saint-Cyprien market. “We serve them in plastic boxes, in the spirit of a canteen bowl,” explains Nicolas.
Count 13 euros for these bentos, pastries from the house Kinoka are also on the menu. Every Friday and Saturday evening, DJs will be present to bring the scene to life.
A new bar to be enjoyed without delay! In a few weeks, Chantier will make way for Tempête, the new restaurant of the L’Heure du singe team.
