The City of Toulouse has been celebrating the centenary of the birth of Jean Dieuzaide since June with the exhibition “Dieuzaide dans la ville” in public space and online until December 4 on the site urban-hist.toulouse.fr.
This photographic journey through the streets of Toulouse, an itinerary highlighting emblematic places in the artist’s life and work, precedes the major retrospective exhibition at the Couvent des Jacobins which will begin next, on December 4.
Until that date, you can discover remarkable views of famous places, such as the Victor-Hugo market, the Jean-Jaurès alleys and the Carmelite market are to be discovered. They bear witness to the urban and economic development of Toulouse.
Ten places imbued with the presence and work of Jean Dieuzaide host around thirty large-format prints and offer Toulouse residents and visitors an unprecedented stroll.
From the Jacobins to the Water Tower, the photographer’s work can be seen from the street, under the arcades of the Place du Capitole, at the Carmelite market, on the gates of the Augustins museum or the Halle aux Grains …
