The Zlín region is the best place to live, Prague is on its tail
Overall, the best place to live is the Zlín region. It is based on a survey of the Place for Life project. In the opposite place is the Ústí nad Labem region, Prague is the penultimate.
For the eleventh time, the Place for Life project has announced an area that is the best place to live in the Czech Republic. The Zlín Region is in first place, followed by the Vysočina and South Moravian Regions.
The biggest advantages of the Zlín Region are low crime, attractiveness of schools, low unemployment, the ratio of beds in social facilities to the number of inhabitants and a sufficient number of high dentists and pharmacies. On the contrary, infrastructure and association activity are problematic.
On the other hand, the Ústí nad Labem Region, which ranked last, is one of the worst three, followed by Prague and the Karlovy Vary Region.
Research methodology
Data are obtained from sources such as the Czech Statistical Office, Central Vehicle Register, Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, CzechInvest, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, National Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addictions, Institute for Information and Education, Protection Agency nature and landscapes of the Czech Republic or individual public transport operators.
However, it also includes a questionnaire survey among the population, which was attended by 2,320 respondents this year. “The questionnaire survey is focused on satisfaction at the place of residence, quality of life and living conditions
values and priorities of the population in individual regions of the Czech Republic, “says the project.
There are a total of eight main areas examined, namely ecology and the environment, health and social affairs, childcare and education, leisure and tourism, infrastructure, civil society and tolerance, working conditions and the last areas being safety.
