In Caen, its Lyon network has not always been a clear success. Who remembers Sidy Koné, loaned by OL in 2013, never appeared on a Ligue 2 lawn that year? Nevertheless, Alain Caveglia has always maintained a certain proximity with Lyon, which is both his training club and the one where he had his best seasons as a player (1996-2000). According to The Team, the former striker is preparing to join the Lyon recruitment unit to replace Patrice Girard, who left for Angers.
Almost a decade after the end of a rich playing career, Alain Caveglia had joined Stade Malherbe Caen as sports director. His new career in football has been one of highs (especially recruiting N’Golo Kanté) and lows. He also left a few weeks before Caen’s relegation to Ligue 2, in April 2019. “Cavegoal” spent eight years at the club. A few weeks later, Villers-Houlgate (R2) announced his arrival as sports advisor and member of the executive committee.
At 53, Alain Caveglia will therefore take up a new challenge at home as a recruiter.
