It will be a bright Christmas in Florence, there are over 40 projects approved for a total of 192 thousand euros that have been allocated by Palazzo Vecchio.
40 streets will thus be illuminated thanks to the substantial participation in the announcement published by the Municipality. “We are really happy to participate in the tender: we want an illuminated Christmas. This is why we have implemented this project to help the shops on the streets of our neighborhoods to light up Christmas”, said the councilor for trade and production activities Federico Gianassi commented the high adhesion of the Florentine shops to the notice of the Municipality to support the Christmas lights.

The call, which Palazzo Vecchio launched in recent weeks after having again reached a balanced budget in Covid this second year, closed last Saturday. The aim was to allow the associations of the shops on the streets and squares throughout the city to access municipal contributions for the lights. An allocation of 192 thousand euros (last year 120,000 euros had been allocated) with the confirmation of the increase in the percentage of coverage of the project (equal to 85%). An advance of half of the contribution in mid-December is also guaranteed.
The total applications arrived are 40, more than last year when they were 27 (in 2019 they were 19): a very high participation, higher than in the past, which indicates the desire to go beyond the difficult period experienced in the last two years.
