Salzburg leads 7-day incidence
As of Saturday there are 152,271 active cases in Austria, 91 fewer than on the previous Friday. The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence was Salzburg, Salzburg with 1,457.3, Austria, Carn and Tyrol (1,435.1, 1,387.3 and 1,289.2, respectively). Vorarlberg (1,232.4), Lower Austria (953.8), Styria (833.7), Burgenland (636.8) and Vienna (503.6) followed.
65 since Friday
There have already been 1,132,805 confirmed cases in Austria since the start of the pandemic. 968,185 people have recovered, and 11,697 were considered healthy again within the last 24 hours. There has been 65 as of yesterday. This number is above the seven-day average of 50.9. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 12,349 deaths in Austria since the outbreak. 138.2 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died of or with Covid-19.

Over 3,200 corona patients in the hospital
There were 3,248 people in the hospital on Saturday, one patient less than on Friday. 608 people were cared for in intensive care units. This number has not changed since yesterday and rose by 84 patients within one week.
A total of 498,551 rapid PCR and antigen tests were registered in the past 24 hours. Of these, 372,881 were meaningful PCR tests. All in all, there were 139,131,357 corona tests carried out on Saturday. The positive rate of the PCR tests was 3.1 percent. This 24-hour value was above the average of the previous week (an average of 2.6 percent of the PCR tests positive).
66.5 percent have valid vaccination protection
138,017 vaccinations were given on Friday. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 6,302,548 have already received at least one vaccination. 5,941,603 people and thus 66.5 percent of Austrians have valid vaccination protection.
Of the 138,017 vaccinations on Friday, 15,414 were first stitches, that is 11.17 percent. This means that the number of last vaccinations is above the seven-day average of 12,008. A total of 84,056 first vaccinations were carried out within the past seven days. 18,856 vaccinations were second stings. By far the most dying vaccinations were with 103,747 third bites (75.17 percent of all vaccinations carried out). Here, too, the number was above the seven-day average of 80,860. A total of 566,023 third stitches were used within the past seven days.
The vaccination rates according to age groups: 58.9 percent of the 12 to 24 year olds have a valid vaccination certificate, in the 25 to 34 age group the rate is 65.5 percent and among the 35 to 44 year olds 70.3 percent. 73.8 percent of people between 45 and 54 years of age are demonstrably protected against Covid-19 with a certificate, 81.6 percent in the 55 to 64 group. The 65 to 74 year olds have a rate of 85.8 percent who 75- to 84-year-olds 90.4 percent and the group 85plus 90.6 percent. For children up to years of age who are currently only vaccinated “off label”, 0.4 percent was reported.
Protection rate lowest in Upper Austria
The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland at 72.9 percent. In Lower Austria, 68.9 percent of the population have valid vaccination protection, in Styria 66.8 percent. After Vienna (65.7), Tyrol (65.3), Vorarlberg (63.8), Carinthia (63.1) and Salzburg (63), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 61.8 percent. (These numbers refer to Friday.)
