Zurich Airport has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the international airport in Noida in front of the Indian metropolis of Delhi. The groundbreaking ceremony for the 750 million euro building went on Thursday with a lot of pomp and prominence. Among other things, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there.
The airport does not write when the first planes should take off. In Noida, according to a message from Friday, two runways and two passenger terminals will be built on a “green field”.
Noida International Airport is being built and operated by the Zurich Airport subsidiary Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), which was founded for this purpose. It is designed for 12 million passengers a year. The operating license is valid for 40 years until 2061.
