This Friday evening, Toulouse lit up in the colors of Christmas. The end of year festivities are back.

This Friday evening, in the village of Santa Claus, in the Charles de Gaulle square, the town hall kicked off the festivities. A Gospel choir followed by a mural show on the Capitol dungeon accompanied by a piano voice revived the soul of the end of the year celebrations. Activities that will be offered several times a month.
At the stroke of 6.30 pm, the more than 16 kilometers of garlands were lit. “We are reconnecting with tradition. We are all happy to be able to celebrate Christmas as it should be ”, rejoiced Jonnhy Dunal, municipal councilor in charge of the festivals, who launched the festivities in the absence of Jean-Luc Moudenc, positive for Covid-19.
The 500,000 leds in variegated colors, including red and gold, cost 700,000 euros. The people of Toulouse who wandered the streets were pleasantly surprised. “We needed it,” smiles Josette. “We’re going back to childhood”
The City has set standards in the choice of decorations, made of eco-responsible and recyclable materials. The decorations, which are recyclable, are made from sugar cane. Almost 90% of the decorations are recyclable.
