A real Ali Baba’s cave of original finds, a treasure chest of surprising and quirky ideas, the Vintage Show, organized by the Couture event agency, will look to responsible and ecological recycling to launch hundreds of leads to a vintage, personal and mess-free Christmas.
With around fifty exhibitors
About fifty exhibitors will be present: fashion, furniture, decorations, designers, upcycling (or upcycling in good French), zero waste DIY workshops (to create toothpaste, snow globes, piggy banks for children, gourmet gift kits), dried flowers … All in order to discover the decorative universe from the 1920s to the 1990s.
Perfectly in tune with the times, the Salon Vintage will allow us to (re) discover the treasures of our attics and offer eco-responsible gifts by promoting the second hand.
“A heartbreak to see from these beautiful bikes in the trash”
Among the exhibitors, The bike workshop. Created in 2017 and located in the Pont des Demoiselles district in Toulouse, the latter specializes in the renovation, transformation and sale of vintage bikes. You can find Dutch bikes with colorful saddlebags, racing bikes transformed into city hikers …
Benoît is passionate about old bicycles and mechanics: it was he who one day decided to open this workshop very popular with bicycle enthusiasts.
“It was a real heartbreak for me to see all these beautiful bikes go in the trash,” he says. Some are far from obsolete; by their robust design and quality parts, they are often more than some current models. “
Atelier Vélo offers the passionate and meticulous restoration of old bikes from 1950 to the present day. “We repaint the frame, renovate and polish the metal parts, change parts or accessories, if they are too damaged or defective. On the basis of vintage bikes, we create atypical bikes, mainly for urban use. Each project is different, according to our desires and the type of bike chosen. We love vintage mountain bikes from the 90s, before the switch to hardtail or full suspension. The traditional vintage racing bike offers many possibilities for transformation. We also love the Dutch bikes, which we adapt in neo-retro, for more practical use. We also customize the bikes that customers bring to us. We decide on all the modifications made according to their needs and desires. We can renovate the bikes identically, with paint, original stickers, with period parts. Often, customers bring us their grandfather’s bicycle, which collects dust in the attic. By taking the paths again, a whole part of history is reborn. “
In short, to rediscover the spirit of vintage, head to the Hôtel-Dieu this weekend in the Pink City.
