Chief of Staff of the British Armed Forces Nick Carter told the newspaper Telegraphthat Russia poses a greater danger to the United Kingdom than Islamic terrorists.
He noted that in the summer of 2014, when he headed the General Staff, the Islamists were considered the main threat.
“But then in 2018 the Skripal family came under attack in Salisbury, and it became very clear that Russia was the most serious threat to our country,” Carter said.
The head of the General Staff explained that this is about Moscow’s actions in the “gray zone” with the use of “all the forces of tools.”
Earlier, the British newspaper Daily Express amid the aggravation of the situation in Eastern Europe – the European media wrote about the maneuvers of the Russian army on the border with Ukraine – compared the armed forces of Russia and the United Kingdom.
