Secretary Blinken’s trip to Latvia and Sweden
Foreign Minister Antony J. Blinken will travel to Riga and Stockholm from 29 November to 2 December 2021.
Secretary Blinken begins his journey in Riga, Latvia, where he will meet with President Egils Levits, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karin and Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevics to reaffirm the strong partnership between Latvia and the United States. While in Riga, the Secretary will hold bilateral meetings with Allied counterparts and attend NATO’s Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to consult with Allies on issues central to the NATO Alliance and the security of the transatlantic community.
On December 1, Secretary Blinken travels to Stockholm, Sweden, to participate in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Council of Ministers. Ministers will discuss concerns about Europe-Eurasia’s security environment and the need to strengthen it by upholding OSCE principles. The Secretary will meet with Swedish officials to discuss the importance of the relationship between the United States and Sweden and to work together to achieve common goals.
