Open letter. The National Union of Real Estate Owners of Dijon and the Region calls on mayors not to increase taxes
” Mr. Mayor,
Mister President,
You and your elected officials are undoubtedly in the midst of a budget orientation debate with a view to drawing up the initial budget for your community for the year 2022.
This is why, in our capacity as an association for the defense of owner-occupiers and financial backers, we manage to alert you to the importance of not increasing the tax rate that weighs on them.
According to our National Property Tax Observatory, the amounts paid by landlords increased by 11.4% between 2015 and 2020 and by 27.9% between 2010 and 2020, which is much more than inflation, the evolution of rents, wages or pensions.
Owners and co-owners are worried about the disappearance of the housing tax on main residences and the revenue requirements to balance your budget. If the compensation promised to communities is not up to par, a report on property tax would be unbearable.
In addition, the health crisis plunges us into uncertainty about the future, and in any case owners can not create an adjustment variable. They are essential players in our territory and important deadlines, especially work related to the energy transition.
Taking into account the elements mentioned, it seems to us capital to protect the purchasing power of the owners, occupants or financial backers, to maintain the rates of increase of decrease to compensate for the increase of the bases applied by the State which is abusive announcement.
This is why we call on your sense of moderation when you propose to your deliberative assembly to vote the tax rate when adopting your original budget.
In the hope of having caught your attention, Please accept, Mr. Mayor, Mr. President, the expression of my highest consideration.
Jean PERRIN
President UNPI BFC Dijon “
