Hungary can also produce Sputnik Light
Szijjártó: Hungary will soon be able to produce Sputnik Light
According to the Foreign Minister, 2021 was the most successful year ever in Hungarian-Russian co-operation, which will continue, “and those who do not want to do so are against the interests of the Hungarian people.”
At a press conference following the meeting of the Hungarian-Russian Intergovernmental Economic Committee in Obnyinsk, the Hungarian co-chair of the committee, Péter Szijjártó, stated that production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Hungary began at the end of next year.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in 2021, in addition to the vaccine purchase agreement, a vital agreement was reached between the two countries: a gas supply contract to provide heating, MTI wrote.
Speaking about Szijjártó, WizzAir will operate two flights a week between Moscow and Debrecen from December 13, and between Budapest and Yekaterinburg from March.
The establishment of a Hungarian-Russian railway freight joint venture will be signed on December 16, which will divert freight from China to Hungary, and it will arrive instead of the current hundred freight trains.
He announced that a Russian cosmetics company worth HUF 18 billion would establish a factory in Alsózsolca, creating 260 new jobs.
He added that the Paks-2 investment will enter the construction phase next year. As he said, the Russian side has already submitted one of the eight license applications requested.
He asked MTI how the minister sees Hungarian-Russian relations in light of the new German government’s program, which promises to increase pressure on Moscow and EU countries cooperating with Russia.
In his response, Szijjártó said: “There is a huge amount of hypocrisy when it comes to bilateral relations with Russia. We see that the further west a country is in Europe, the closer and better the co-operation with Russia. ”
