Health – Hanover – fewer corona vaccines expected in the coming week – health
Hanover / Bremen (dpa / lni) – Vaccination teams and resident doctors in Lower Saxony will receive less corona vaccine in the coming week than probably assumed. Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) said in a statement that the Ministry of Health has been receiving relevant news from all parts of the country since Friday morning. According to the descriptions of the practices and the health authorities, the limitation of the delivery quantities far exceeds the quotas announced by the Federal Ministry of Health last week and apparently also affects the vaccine from Moderna.
“If he does not remedy this immediately, vaccination appointments that have already been agreed in the practices will be canceled and vaccination campaigns in the small ones will be canceled when and as planned. Against this background, the start of the 180 is in massive danger,” said Behrens.
How many doses of vaccine are involved could not initially be said on Friday. According to the ministry, the supply of the countries with the corona vaccines also ended on September 30 with the closure of the vaccination centers. a consequence of the delivery of all vaccination centers exclusively through pharmaceutical wholesalers and pharmacies.
“I expect the Federal Ministry of Health to pull out all the stops to ensure that the missing vaccine doses are fully delivered in the coming week,” emphasized Behrens.
The Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin pointed out in a message that doctors’ surgeries and other customers have to place orders by Tuesday noon – this has been known since April this year. Nevertheless, some vaccination centers and practices ordered the information late this week.
Statutory health insurance physicians in Lower Saxony and Bremen were outraged about problems with the supply of corona vaccines. As the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Lower Saxony (KVN) announced on Friday, the practices that take part in the vaccinations did not receive the Biontech vaccine quantities they had ordered, although they had based their appointments on it. Doctors would therefore withdraw many vaccination commitments, while the practices would be overrun by those willing to vaccinate.
The Bremen Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians also criticized the fact that general practitioners and specialists in Bremen and Bremerhaven will probably receive less than half of the vaccine ordered from Biontech for the coming week.
The incumbent chairman of the Lord Mayors’ Conference of the Lower Saxony City Council, Salzgitter’s Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel, was appalled that the federal government’s promises to deliver vaccines would not be kept. It is the duty of the acting health minister to “do everything in his power to procure vaccine for the medical profession and mobile vaccination teams at short notice,” said Klingebiel.
The district of Verden announced that a stationary vaccination center at the Verden district hall could not offer any corona vaccinations in the coming week. “The reason for this is that the quantities of vaccines ordered from pharmacy wholesalers have been drastically reduced due to delivery bottlenecks.” In several places in Braunschweig on Friday vaccination campaigns are prematurely stopped.
The number of Corona first stamps has increased significantly in Lower Saxony. Currently there are 9,000 to 10,000 first vaccinations per day, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Health. This value is almost five times as high as the numbers that have been achieved per day in the past few weeks.
Since last week, around 300,000 people in Lower Saxony had received a booster vaccination on Thursday. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), this vaccination was last given to 9.4 percent of all people in the state – including 20.6 percent of people who are older than 60 years.
The corona infection process is meanwhile coming to a head in Lower Saxony. The seven-day value of new infections rose according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Friday in the national average from 195.1 to 201.2 per 100,000 inhabitants. Within one day, 3415 new infections and 11 sights were added. In the neighboring state of Bremen, the incidence on Friday was 219.4 after 190.4 the previous day. Nationwide it was already 438.2.
The so-called hospitalization incidence for Lower Saxony was given on Friday at 6.7 percent, which corresponds to an increase compared to the previous day (6.6 percent). The value indicates how many infected people were newly admitted to hospitals per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. In the intensive care units in Lower Saxony, 8.5 percent of the maximum available beds were occupied by Covid sufferers on Friday (previous day: 8.6 percent).
In Lower Saxony, the corona warning levels take effect when the incidence of hospitalization and at least one of the other two indicators (newly infected, intensive care bed occupancy) exceed certain thresholds. Warning level 1 with a nationwide 2G regulation has been in effect nationwide since Wednesday. This means that unvaccinated people are excluded from parts of public life. In the event of a further deterioration, the 2G-plus regulation could soon be imposed with warning level 2 regional dying, which also provides for a test requirement for vaccinated and convalescent people.
