Burned down wooden house: scarfing work as the cause
timeline
In Saalfelden (Pinzgau), a prefabricated wooden house was destroyed in a fire on Thursday evening. Police investigators and a court court sworn fire expert identified scarfing work on Friday, which roofers are said to have carried out the day before.
The location of the fire had previously been limited to the roof area of the attached garage. The roofer had worked there on Thursday afternoon, the police reported: “The investigations by the expert revealed that the fire broke out with a probability bordering on certainty in connection with this work.”
The expert had ruled out other causes, and there was no evidence of deliberate arson. Nobody was killed or injured by the fire. The facts are reported to the Salzburg Public Prosecutor’s Office.
