Paris-SG rushes against Porto in the Champions League
For the second time in eight days, Paris-SG swallowed their Porto in one sip on Thursday at the Dragao Arena (39-30). After three losses and a draw, the capital team have finally won their first away game of the season in the Champions League.
The French champions again killed the match in the first period, this time by deploying terrifying firepower in attack (15-23 at the break), after the historic defensive demonstration accomplished last week at Coubertin (33-19 , 18-4 at the break).
Parisian coach Raul Gonzalez had also completely changed his defensive organization at kickoff, lining up in “1-5” with Benoît Kounkoud advanced. Despite the absence of Luka Karabatic, who remained on the bench because of a pain in a thigh, this system deeply disturbed the Portuguese attack, especially as Vincent Gérard – even the face marked by a shot in the head of Victor Iturriza – was still bleeding (8 stops at 35% at the break).
Syprzak and Remili feast
The PSG went up all the balloons at full speed in counterattack as on fast engagement. Nedim Remili and Kamil Syprzak had a blast (7 goals each in the first half hour) taking advantage of the millimeter passes from Mikkel Hansen and Nikola Karabatic.
After the break, the Parisians managed their advance without worry. This second victory in a row allows them to move up to third in Group B, tied with FC Barcelona who lost Wednesday in Kielce (27-29), one point behind Veszprem and five behind leader Kielce.
The next two days before Christmas will offer them two huge home posters against Kielce next Thursday, then Barça.
