ASM – RCSA: finally a victory?
AS Monaco will host Strasbourg this weekend for the 15th day of Ligue 1. Finally, the opportunity for Club du Rocher to finally take 3 points after 4 unbeaten matches in all competitions. To concentrate.
A new coach
Since this summer, Julien Stéphan has been officiating on the Strasbourg bench. After parting with Thierry Laurey who had been there since 2016, a page is turned. Perhaps a great opportunity for the son of Deschamps’ deputy to revive after the mixed end in Rennes.
A decent start to the season
Currently the RCSA is 7th in the championship just ahead of ASM.
The club has 5 victories against Lorient (4-0), Saint-Étienne (5-1), Lens (0-1), Metz (3-0), and Brest (3-1). But there are also 5 disappointments against Paris (4-2), Rennes (1-0), Lille (1-2), Lyon (3-1) and Angers (0-2).
A scary attack
The Alsatians currently have the second best attack in the championship behind PSG. With 25 goals in 14 games, it’s a hell of a record for the club. Habib Diallo one already registered 7 but, Ajorque 5 and Adrien Thomasson 4.
Strasbourg will not be an easy opponent. After 3 games without defeat, a rather decent record and a coach who has the teeth, this team could well pose problems for AS Monaco. But it will be the duty of Kovac’s men to recover as quickly as possible from the Europa League match to finally pocket three points …
