“Go get the qualification in front of our supporters”
Already author of seven assists in all competitions this season, the Brazilian side of AS Monaco spoke to the media, on the eve of the reception of Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
He is building on his last season with the Red and White. Decisive double passer in the first leg on the pitch of PSV Eindhoven (2-1 success), Caio Henrique is increasingly decisive in the opposing thirty meters, with already seven offerings in all competitions. A form that he would like to confirm, in order to help AS Monaco to regain a positive dynamic, on the occasion of the reception of Real Sociedad this Thursday, for the 5th day of the Europa League, at the Stade Louis-II ( 9 p.m.). This is what he confided in a pre-match press conference. Extracts.
It is true that I have been on a good momentum lately, and I still hope to deliver a lot of assists to my teammates. But as I said recently, I would also like to score my first goal with AS Monaco.

On the evolution of his role in the team
I think my role has taken on a little more depth in the squad since last season. For my first exercise with AS Monaco, I needed a period of adaptation, time to be able to tame this new championship. Today it’s different, I actually have a different place in the group, among the executives. It’s true that I’m on a good roll lately (7 assists, all competitions), and I still hope to pass a lot of assists to my teammates. But as I said recently, I would also like to score my first goal with AS Monaco. It’s a moment that I look forward to.

On the sleeve go to San Sebastian
We remember the first leg against this Real Sociedad team. We knew it would be a very difficult match, against a great team which is leader of La Liga and who likes to have possession of the ball. It will therefore not be an easy game tomorrow. But we are at home, and we must impose ourselves to validate our qualification. So we are clearly going to play for the win.
Yes clearly, I believe that it is an additional motivation to win this meeting. First because we will play at home, in front of our supporters here at the Stade Louis-II. And then because there is the possibility of finishing in first place, and of avoiding playing two more play-off matches.

Qualification, an additional motivation?
Yes clearly, I believe that it is an additional motivation to win this meeting. First because we will play at home, in front of our supporters here at the Stade Louis-II. And then because there is the possibility of finishing in first place, and of avoiding playing two additional play-off matches to reach the round of 16 of the competition. So obviously we really want to go for this victory.
