Advance sales of season tickets are getting off to a good start
business
Although Austria is in lockdown, season ticket sales in domestic ski areas are above expectations. Since it has been clear that the people of Salzburg are allowed to use the lifts, the desire to ski has evidently grown again among the Salzburgers.
Lockdown and hardly any natural snow are extremely bad omen for a start in the season tickets of the domestic advance sales. Nevertheless, the advance booking is going much better than in the previous year. A good example of this is the “Salzburg Super Skicard”, says Salzburg’s cable cars spokesman Erich Egger: “It is impressive that we have increased over 70 percent here via our online shop.”
Fast advance booking at pre-corona level
Even a comparison with the year 2019 – i.e. before the corona crisis – does not need to be shy. Individual ski areas have already exceeded this level, for example the Kitzsteinhorn, according to Egger. The weather and snow provide a particularly favorable starting point there.
Hope for a cold front
Ski Amadé President Wolfgang Hettegger confirms that the numbers in the Amadé Ski Association – also one level below the “Salzburg Super Skicard” in terms of validity – are: “Advance season ticket sales as of Wednesday were 64 percent compared to the winter of the previous year in front. ”Now one is hoping for the cold air front on Friday so that the snow cannons can run at full speed, adds cable car spokesman Erich Egger.
