3G rules prevent public service – Berlin.de
From the point of view of the Berlin Passenger Association IGEB, the 3G rules that have been in effect since this Wednesday in buses and trains run counter to the general welfare of local public transport. “This also applies to unvaccinated people who want to get to a vaccination center and who somehow have to die there,” said Matthias Gibner, the spokesman for the interest group for railways, local transport and passenger issues Berlin, on Wednesday. “With the new regulation, I also explicitly exclude such people.”

In addition, the rules of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) are difficult to enforce. “I don’t know where the BVG would like to get the staff for this,” said Gibner. Ticket controls are already only carried out sporadically. The regulation also harbors potential for conflict: “Even now, with normal ticket inspections, we are experiencing that passengers are insulted and attacked by inspectors.” With such a sensible question as vaccination, the risk increases even further.
Since this Wednesday, the 3G rules on buses and trains have also been in effect in Berlin. Passengers must also be vaccinated against the coronavirus, have already recovered or have been tested for the virus. The amendment to the relevant federal law was passed by the Bundestag and Bundesrat last week.
