Two new Michelin stars shine in Liguria: recognition of the “San Giorgio” of Genoa and the “Orto” of Moneglia
Genoa – Two new stars are shining in Ligurian cuisine: the Michelin Italia 2022 guide has awarded the recognition (one star) to two new Ligurian restaurants. This is the “St. George“In viale Brigate Bisagno, in Genoa, and of the”Or a“In via Venino, in Moneglia.

Uberto in San Cassiano (Bolzano); Le Calandre in Rubano (Padua); From the Fisherman to Canneto sull’Oglio (Mantua); Osteria Francescana in Modena; Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence; La Pergola in Rome; Reale in Castel di Sangro (L’Aquila) Mauro Uliassi in Senigallia (Ancona) and Enrico Bartolini at Mudec in Milan. All restaurants that, according to the guide inspectors, are “worth the trip”.
But the 67th edition of the Michelin Guide has reserved several surprises: for the first time in Franciacorta, the international director of the Michelin guides Gwendal Poullennec has assigned the ambitions two Michelin stars to two Campania companies: Krèsios by Giuseppe Iannotti in Telese Terme (Benevento) and Tre Olivi in Paestum (Salerno) which marks an unprecedented exploit going from zero to two stars. In the ranking of stars by regions Lombardy maintains the leadership thanks to the 56 restaurants in the “red” and 4 new starred restaurants. Campania, on the other hand, wins the annual record of novelties, seven, taking second place with 48 restaurants. Piedmont thus drops one step, with 1 novelty and 45 restaurants, followed by Tuscany in fourth position and Veneto which is the second most awarded region in the 2022 edition thanks to five new star restaurants in the guide. Among the provinces Naples is confirmed first, followed by Rome in second position, third Bolzano ahead of Cuneo with Milan slipping into fifth position with 18 starred restaurants. Still few women awarded but three ideally tell a life in the kitchen: Nadia Santini, gray hair and a welcoming smile at Dal Pescatore in Canneto sull’Oglio (Mantua) awarded as best mentor chef, Sonja Egger awarded as best sommelier 2022 in Castelbello (Bolzano) by the Brunello Consortium di Montalcino, and Solaika Marrocco who obtained the special Young Chef award and the Michelin star for Primo Ristorante in Lecce.
