November 23rd: Mask compulsory at Christmas markets
The Hanover region has one on November 22nd General decree announced that different parts of the city must wear medical mouth and nose protection. Accordingly, the area of the Christmas markets at the main train station, on the Lister Meile and in the old town between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. can only be entered with a mask. Masks
- It is still mandatory to wear a mouth and nose cover (usually a medical mask) in shops, in local and long-distance public transport, in restaurants / cinemas / theaters / clubs / bars (except on the square) and other publicly accessible indoor areas , at trade fairs and special markets as well as body-hugging services such as hairdressers and medical practices.
- Even when entering the Hanoverian Christmas markets in front of the main train station, on the Lister Meile and in the old town, a medical mask must be worn, which may only be removed for the consumption of food and drinks.
- In a school building, every person has to wear a mouth and nose cover while the school is running, as a medical mask from the age of 14. First and second grade students can take off the mask when they are seated.
- Children up to and including 5 years of age and persons exempted by a medical certificate are still exempt from the mask requirement. An everyday mask is sufficient for children from six to 14 years of age.
3G rule
- Access or use of services is only possible for vaccinated, convalescent or tested people.
- The compulsory test does not apply to children and adolescents up to 18 years of age and adults with contraindications.
2G
- Access only for convalescent and vaccinated persons (2G), there is no requirement to keep a distance or mask.
Compulsory test
- Daily testing is mandatory for unvaccinated employees in all retirement and nursing homes.
- In slaughterhouses and cutting plants & unvaccinated people employed there must be tested every two days.

- For travelers from abroad, the 3G rule applies from the age of 12 – regardless of the means of transport.
Meetings and private parties
- There is no limit to the number of people or households.
- If more than 25 people come together, when and when contact details are collected and the 2G rule applies.

Sports / swimming
- Sports facilities are open, 2G usually in closed rooms.
- Saunas, thermal baths, indoor and fun pools are open with a hygiene concept, 2G gold-plated.
schools
- Mandatory three tests per week. Fully vaccinated and recovered pupils and teachers are exempt from the test requirement.
- A mouth and nose cover must be worn in all school types in the building and also during lessons, as a medical mask from 14 years of age. First and second grade students can take off the mask at their seat.
tourism
- Test upon arrival and twice a week, unless proof of vaccination or convalescence is available.
Note: Organizers have domiciliary rights and, in deviation from the Corona Ordinance, can demand additional access requirements. For example, the 2G rule has generally been in effect at concerts by Hannover Concerts since October 8th.
