Most family-friendly: GMG, FMA and Hilti awarded – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – On Tuesday, the government honored the three most family-friendly companies in Liechtenstein with the “family-friendly company ’21” certificate and awarded recognition prizes for large, medium-sized and small companies.
The award for “family-friendly ’21” took place for the second time this year, as the government announced. More than 50 companies in Liechtenstein accepted the invitation from the Ministry of Society and Culture and applied for the award. On Tuesday, the best companies will be recognized in the SAL in Schaan. The survey results could already provide good conclusions about the diversity of family-friendly businesses in Liechtenstein to date: The companies are very creative and try to support the compatibility of family and work with a wide range of individual and needs-based measures.
Opening speech by Manuel Frick
The award ceremony was opened by Minister of Society, Manuel Frick. He thanked the participants who would make a significant contribution to making the working environment in Liechtenstein even more family-friendly. He reported that the framework conditions in our country are already family-friendly, but can still be improved. He also emphasized that Liechtenstein is on the right track, but has not yet reached its goal.
Monika Althaus from UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein gave a keynote speech on the subject of “Family-friendly working conditions: good for children, good for parents, good for companies”. They have several positive effects of family-friendly working conditions on children and the work of Unicef in this area.
Evaluation by “Great Place to Work”
The “Great Place to Work” institute carried out the study in Liechtenstein, in which Liechtenstein companies were examined by means of employee surveys and management audits and evaluated with regard to their family-friendliness. Michael Hermann from “Great Place to Work” and explained the exact procedure where the companies in Liechtenstein stand compared to 2019. The certificates for the most family-friendly companies in 2021 were then handed over by Government Councilor Manuel Frick.
In the “Small Business” category, GMG AG in Mauren won for the second time, and in 2019 they were also winners in their category. In the “Medium-sized Enterprises” category, the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA) received the certificate for the most family-friendly company. Hilti Aktiengesellschaft received the “family-friendly company ’21” award from major employers.
Recognition prizes awarded
Certificates for family-friendly companies were also awarded on Tuesday, which scored very well in terms of family-friendliness. All award-winning companies are published on the website www.freund.li and receive access to a best practice report. Larger companies receive an individual results report that also includes a comparison with other companies.
