Investigations against FC Bayern for minimum wage offenses
Munich – The youth performance center of FC Bayern Munich is the focus of public prosecutor’s investigations.
It is about possible minimum wage violations. According to a report by the WDR magazine “Sport inside”, FC Augsburg had already been investigated. Now it will probably also hit the German record champions. The case against FC Bayern seems to be very fresh. The Munich public prosecutor’s office does not comment “for tactical reasons”. FC Bayern has not yet taken a position either.
FC Bayern Munich: dumping wages for youth coaches
Former youth coaches from Augsburg and Munich had already complained to “Sport inside” in May about wages well below the minimum wage. A trainer reported a salary of less than 200 euros a month. These statements lead to investigations against the “Fuggerstädter”. FC Augsburg denies the allegations.
The Munich lawyer Andreas Waldschmidt said: “If you know that the (youth coach; editor’s note) will get paid 450 euros, then you are well below the minimum wage, not just barely.” Waldschmidt represents several former employees of the Munich-based company.
As part of a labor court process at the beginning of October 2021, FC Bayern stated that there were no longer any “mini-jobbers” in the youth sector.
