And there was light ! A Rouen (Seine-Maritime), the left bank quays, between the Corneille and Guillaume-le-Conquérant bridges, were highlighted on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, around 9 p.m., after nightfall. The old spotlights, not powerful enough to optimally illuminate the site, had to be replaced.
This renovation of public lighting carried by the Metropolis and the City of Rouen is part of a project carried out in conjunction with a group of residents, accompanied by lighting designer Florent Barnaud as well as local artists. Together, they created nearly 200 visuals, inspired by proposals from residents.
Until one in the morning
Every hour, three illuminated paintings follow one another, and allow the people of Rouen and Rouen to make the place their own. A special software will be responsible for controlling all the projectors on its own.
“The lighting is done from nightfall to 1 a.m. (Editor’s note in relation to the rules of the City of Rouen in terms of optimizing and switching off public lighting) ”, specifies the Métropole de Rouen.
