Coronavirus and vaccination: data on November 23 – Bulgaria
Dnevnik publishes up-to-date data related to the spread of the up-to-dateness of the coronavirus in Bulgaria, provided by the Unified Information System. Below in the article you can see graphs that show the trends of recent months according to the main indicators – number of infected, compositions and treatment of the number of patients in hospitals and intensive care units and the ratio between the total number of control PCR and antigen tests and their results. For those indicated on a section of the chart (with a mouse for the desktop version or with a finger for the mobile) data for a specific day are evaluated. By pressing the buttons in the legend, individual components can be removed from the graphs.
As of December 23, 2020, the statistics also include data on antigen tests. Until these data, the only officially recognized by the state are PCR tests, according to Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev latent morbidity (the number of infected, detected by antigen test, but not confirmed by official PCR) is on average about 10-15%. And not all antigen tests are covered, but only those performed in laboratories, hospitals and clinics. There are many people who test themselves with the products offered in pharmacies, so there is still a hidden morbidity.
The first table shows the data for the past day, which often have inaccuracies for technical reasons. On Sunday and Monday, the usual sharp drop in the number of new infections and the reason for the tests, and according to the authorities, on weekends many laboratories do not work or work at reduced capacity, and that laboratories and hospitals report their results late. in the unified information system. This is part of the cases with a large increase in data on new infections, hospital stays and deaths.
In an attempt to “smooth out” the incidental peaks and troughs in parentheses to the main indicators is indicated the change in% for the last seven days from the date of notification based on daily averages (Monday is compared with the previous Monday, Tuesday with Tuesday, but not in absolute values, but after averaging for the period, etc.).
Infected, cured, included
After 23 December 2020, official statistics report as infected people for whom a positive PCR or antigen test has been obtained in state laboratories or COVID centers.
After October 13, 2020, the statistics reported as cured all infected, a wonderful 14-day quarantine has expiredwithout delivering research. All patients who were hospitalized with COVID-19 and discharged are also considered cured. The victims’ statistics include people who showed up after being diagnosed with coronavirus. According to this indicator, since the beginning of the epidemic in many countries there is a debate about how correctly it is reported to win the role of accompanying patients.
How good are the tests
The calculation of what part of the tests are the basis is to some extent conditional, as by doing the total number of tests for the day, as authorities do not distinguish how many of the results come from the study for the first time and how normal they are for the same patient. All of them can still be used for orientation, insofar as it is necessary after the waiver of the obligatory negative test for leaving the quarantine of repeated examinations.
Hospital treatment
The need for hospital treatment is considered one of the key indicators for the development of the pandemic, as it puts serious pressure on the health system and it is possible for the state to cope with the crisis. According to the latest statements of the health authorities, they will experience insurmountable difficulties if the number of people hospitalized exceeds 10,000.
