At the San Marino high school a language laboratory with the Mexican cycling team
A Spanish language workshop together with the Mexican athletes of the Under 23 cycling team. A golden opportunity to try speaking Spanish with native speakers. About twenty trainers have been training on the Titan since the end of February cyclists of the Mexican under 23 team, so the San Marino high school decided to organize a meeting with them with the second year students of the linguistic high school, the 2LB. An opportunity to improve the language, but also for a cultural exchange and to make friends with student-athletes who are almost the same age.
“The initiative was born from the sense of welcome that characterizes this State and this school – he explains Giacomo Esposito, principal of secondary school – These Mexican athletes and students have been given the opportunity to go back to school and not just go there virtually. But it was also a good opportunity for our students, who were able to speak with native Spanish speakers “.
The young cyclists, since I have been here, have participated in several races in Italy and in Europe. Today, after months of distance learning, they had the opportunity to sit back at the desks. “It was also a positive experience from a relational point of view – he says Bruno Camarena, one of the Mexican boys of the Under 23 cycling team – because we made it possible to meet and make friends with guys of our age. It was also a useful opportunity on a linguistic level: the boys tried to speak Spanish and we Italian “.
“The experience was very nice – confirms the colleague Diego Arreola -. We had a great time here, people are very warm, as we think. From the point of view of cycling this is a paradise, because it is full of climbs and territories suitable for our training. We found ourselves very well here
Finally, a third cyclist, Carlos Garcia, spoke of the months spent on the Titan from a sporting and social point of view: “Since we have been here we have trained very well. Europe is very different from Mexico, both from a territorial and cultural point of view. In San Marino, however, I found myself very well “.
