Luxembourg, November 23, 2021 – Since the start of the school year last October, the Guillaume Kroll high school in Esch – sur-Alzette has offered new computer training to students in the BTS section (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur). It is Marc Ludwig (IT professor, BTS Cybersecurity coordinator)) who obtained the approval of the Ministry of Education to implement this new orientation. Known for its very close quality education, the training offered – BTS Cybersecurity – is intended to be closer to students and is formed by experienced professionals.
The selection of students was made on the basis of an admission exam and a file submitted to a jury. Although there are no BAC type prerequisites, the students managed to understand a basic affinity and with the computer world. More than twenty files had been submitted for a number of places limited to 14.
It is Guillaume Talliez, Product & Customer Technical Manager at EST Luxembourg (MGK Technologies) and since 2001 in the company established in Dudelange, who was asked for the part of the training concerning IT security, a subject of primary importance for companies regardless of their size.
The material covered to cover the following points: everything that is concept in terms of security, the technical elements, the operational part and how to set up leading security systems. Currently, computer security courses consist of a half day at the start of the academic year (October) and a full day in March.
“The students were very interested and if they are there, it is because they see the importance of security today and in the future. Luxembourg is a world famous place for its practical and generic IT, ”explains Guillaume Talliez.
An internship in a company is planned in the second year of the cycle in order to have the opportunity to put into practice everything that will have been taught.
